Tropical Chic Handmade Cards
Another Stampin' Up Makerie Day... today I got to try out my Tropical Chic stamps, papers, and dies! I REALLY wanted this set and I am so glad I bought it! The colors are so summery and bright! The flowers and palm trees really put you in a tropical mood!

I managed to purchase the papers just in time! The papers to this set are, unfortunately, no longer available. For current pricing on the Tropical Chic cling mount stamps and dies, click HERE.
As I was stamping a long and die-cutting, I made multiples of each shape. I didn't really have a serious plan but made sure I had plenty of pieces to play around with!
See that white cart in the background? It is the Lexington craft cart with wood top from Michaels Craft store. It is the PERFECT size for my Big Shot die cutting machine! I can store the magnetic plate/cutting plates in the bins too!

I really was interested in the big square palm leaf die in the set. I've seen other people craft mini table lanterns out of those!
A simple way to craft a card out of this set is to gather a variety of the the leaves and arrange under a stamped sentiment saying. (I stamped "thank you" onto an stitched oval die cut.) Then you can add flowers on top. I like to use the foam stickers (called dimensionals) to make the pieces look 3-D!

I attach large pieces with Stampin' Up tape runner or tape n' tear. Small pieces can be held with a sticky glue dot or two.
Sometimes I like to add stick on sparkles or a twirled strand of colored twine for a little something extra!

I combined my photopolymer Sweetly Swirled stamps into the card designs too! For the cards below, I attached the leaves around the card with glue dots. Then, I stamped a black swirl, cut it out, and used foam dimensionals underneath. I added a few sparkles and a tropical flower on top. I also brushed the flower with my Wink of Stella glittery brush for some shimmer!

I think these Tropical Chic cards make great Thank You and Thinking of You cards to keep on hand! I would like to create a whole set of these and give the cards as the gift!
